Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Steven Colon and I’m the owner of Professional Fitness Junky. Helping others to achieve their goals is my personal and life-long aspiration. For as long as I can remember, sports have been a major part of my life. I began playing soccer at the age of five. Two years later, I found myself embarking on a journey that would eventually lead me to my calling in life: to become YOUR personal trainer.
Baseball was life all the way into college and carved a path that would ultimately lead me to self-realization. Oh, I wanted it bad. I literally dreamed of playing professionally but I also knew that even if I couldn’t, I still wanted to be involved in one way or another; because of this, I earned my bachelor’s degree in sports management. However, it wasn’t until my junior year in college that I finally realized my passion. In my junior year, I started doing cross-fit for conditioning. I instantly fell in love with the high-intensity interval training, power-lifting, plyometrics, and most importantly: the community. The support from other members coupled with the positive motivation expressed by the trainers was reminiscent of childhood during my early baseball years. I finished college with a renewed set of goals and a clear vision of my destiny.
I dove head first into the cross-fit world and found that I was able to connect with people on a whole new level. The work ethic and team-player attitude I learned from baseball allowed me motivate others in helping them realize their limits and eventually surpass them. People came to me for help and inspiration. This was the catalyst that helped me realize my true calling in life. I wanted not only to be a physical trainer, but to be the best for those who helped me realize my potential. Looking back, baseball and cross-fit only instilled the knowledge of “how to” but the community, the people, is the reason “why”.
Since then I obtained certifications in USA weightlifting, cross-fit level 2, and personal training from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). My continued education has allowed me to assist others in achieving their fitness goals by designing a workout and diet regiment that suits my clients specific life style allowing them to be more active in their own, unique, way. Combined with my team-work attitude, my clients know that I value their goals as my own. You are not alone in this. Together, we can achieve impossible and accomplish the improbable. Friends, today is the first day to the rest of our lives. Take your first step into becoming a better you by contacting me; anytime, anywhere. Thank you.
