CrossFit is different from any other fitness program you have ever done, and we believe it will change your life forever.  CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program.  It is used by many police academies, tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.

CrossFit is a “sport of fitness.” Over twenty years ago, Coach Greg Glassman inadvertently began to develop CrossFit’s methodology from his own experiences as an athlete, as well as, from coaching at numerous fitness facilities.  He realized from his own athletic background that when he incorporated additional areas of fitness training, modalities, into his gymnastics training, it gave him an advantage over other gymnasts.  He took this realization to the next level and sought to create a results driven program that would prepare athletes for any challenge, both unknown and unknowable.  Glassman gathered empirical evidence from athletes of all ability levels and examined their specialty areas (metabolic conditioning, gymnastics, weightlifting, etc.).  He concluded that the athletes that were best suited for any challenge incorporated all fitness modalities into their training program, focused on functional movements, constantly varied their training and performed workouts at high intensity.  The results of his groundbreaking research dispelled the belief that an athlete with the primary goal of physical fitness should specialize in any one area, such as running, cycling or swimming.  Specializing in one area of fitness will always impede an athlete’s performance in all other areas.  Being great in one area but unable to be competitive in all other areas should put into question how fit an athlete really is.  If an athlete’s primary objective is physical fitness and general physical preparedness, he or she should not specialize in any one area, but should embrace exposure to as many areas of fitness as possible.

The CrossFit prescription sums up what a core strength and conditioning program should look like.  The CrossFit prescription is constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensity.

CrossFit athletes are multi-dimensional individuals from all backgrounds, experiences, and ages. Through CrossFit programming, we can accommodate this broad client base by scaling the load, movements and duration of a workout to meet individual capabilities without altering the fundamentals of the program. This means that a law enforcement officer and a senior citizen can both be motivated and challenged through scalability.

CrossFit is results driven with a strong support community!  Although CrossFit has affiliates in the far reaches of the globe, it still manages to be community based with groups communicating through social networking outlets, local events, and games participation.  You will find a supportive community that takes pride in helping you achieve your fitness goals.  Simply put, there is strength in numbers.
